Putting Together Season Two
Back when I worked for other people and other businesses, I used to dream about being my own boss and having a business of my own, and therefore being able to take time off whenever I felt like it. Summer was my favorite season, and I thought how nice it would be to have the entire summer to myself, like an old-school summer vacation when I was a kid, and not have to ask anyone's permission or worry about work.
LOL - yeah, THAT doesn't happen! At least not for me. The second season of "Anything But Routine" starts next Tuesday, July 16 - which sounded so incredibly far away when season one wrapped in mid-June, and I figured I'd have time to kick back a little and work on my novel, which has sadly been neglected big-time since spring. But there hasn't even been time for THAT, let alone a summer off!
Not that I'm complaining. I love my work, I love what I do, and that was a huge goal of mine when I started my voiceover business: I wanted to be excited to go to work every day. And that is, in fact, the case, and I'm so grateful for that. And as I've worked on each new episode for the new season, I've grown more and more enthusiastic about the podcast in general, so work doesn't even feel like work these days.
I've learned that the saying "Seek and ye shall find" is completely, totally, 100% true. I wanted to do a podcast about positivity, about people and things in which I found inspiration and which I thought other people might find inspiring, too, and when I first mapped out the format, I wondered if I'd be able to find enough material to keep "Anything But Routine" going beyond a season or two. But when I started scouting around for stories to share, I found one just about everywhere I looked. It just goes to prove what I said in the pilot episode: There is so much negativity out there that it's so easy to believe that that's all there is, and when you *expect* to see bad stuff, that's exactly what you see. But when you set out to find goodness and inspiration, you discover it's all around you. I'll be doing this podcast for a long, long time. :-)
Be sure to listen to the season two premiere on Tuesday - I'm excited to share with you all the great stories I've come across this last month. I hope you find this season as uplifting as I do!
Have a great weekend!
